Another Larry McMurtry TV miniseries, similar to Lonesome Dove, Dead Man’s Walk, Streets of Laredo, et al. It’s pretty much a buddy cop movie, but with cowboys instead of cops. But don’t let my glibness fool you – with a cast that includes Val Kilmer (Déja Vu, Kiss Kiss Bang Bang), Karl Urban (Pathfinder, Doom), Steve Zahn (Rescue Dawn, Sahara) and Linda Cardellini (Freaks and Geeks, ER), as well as a script co-written by McMurtry (Last Picture Show, Brokeback Mountain), this TV miniseries carries the same “ammo” as a feature film.
