SHRINK – Reviewed by Robert
Good, solid, believable performances of shallow, narcissistic people leads me to an ending where I don’t really care what happens to anyone involved, 137 minutes ’til the credits come up.
Since they reference it in the film, if you really need a “survivors-of-suicide story,” rent Ordinary People, then move on.
It was written by Thomas Moffett, directed by Jonas Pate (who’s mostly helmed episodes of TV shows) and is headlined by two-time Oscar winner Kevin Spacey. The cast also features Jesse Plemons (Friday Night Lights), Saffron Burrows, Dallas Roberts (A Home At the End of the World), Mark Webber and there’s even a brief appearance by Robin Williams. – [DVD]
