What came in this week on DVD?
It’s hard to know where to start, with so many recommended titles enjoying their DVD releases this week. So let’s just say we hope you’ll be as pleased as we were with almost all of the following films–most of which flew very much under the radar in theaters last year. What a shame!
In this week: Kathryn Bigelow‘s Iraq-war drama The Hurt Locker (a possible Best Picture contender for the 2010 Oscars); the sci-fi/thriller Moon (which stars a terrific Sam Rockwell); Oscars’ 2009 Best Foreign Film winner Departures; the dark look at sports fandom Big Fan (starring an also terrific Patton Oswalt); the political satire In the Loop; and, the remake of the 1980 hit musical Fame.
