I mostly enjoyed this animated movie.
Yes I did.
So should most adults.
And, of course, any kid.
It’s based on the Dr. Seuss book.
Yes it is, you should know.
A 45-page work,
Made into eighty minutes or so.
We should not cut down trees, it basically says.
No we should not, not one bit.
It will ruin the environment, yes it will.
Make it dark and dirty and, well, unfit.
The message is serious, but the voice work is funny.
What a wonderful cast!
Zac Efron, Ed Helms and Betty White.
What can I say, they made me laugh!
So did the teddy bears,
Who are tiny and cute and all.
But when they try to move a bed out of a house,
They keep on hitting the wall!
Danny DeVito is perfect as the title character,
An orange creature of the cranky sort.
He’s fast on his feet and has a moustache.
And like DeVito, is so very, very short.
The movie is not perfect, no it is not.
It has songs that are catchy, yet feel out of place.
And a frantic chase through the streets of Thneed-ville
That little ones will love, but left me in quite the daze.
